The Novice B Selects competed in the Can/Am Challenge Cup in Pierrefonds, QC this weekend – and came home with the Gold medal!

The Selects went 3-1 in their round robin, defeating Cumberland, South End, and Nepean. Their only loss came in a close game against the Embrun Panthers.

The Selects had a chance at redemption on Sunday in the Gold Medal game, being matched up against the 4-0 Panthers. The Selects went down 2-0 early on, but battled back to pull ahead 3-2. The Panthers tied it up late in the 3rd period, sending the game to overtime. With under 2 minutes to play in the first overtime period, the Selects scored to capture the gold medal.

Our 2012-2013 Novice B Selects become the first ever SSMHA team to win a Gold Medal at a Can/Am tournament!
